who knew?

I don't have to use the command line that much in Windows, but I have been known to use some batch and kixtart scripting from time to time. What I wasn't aware of, though, was the SUBST command. It gives you a nice way to map a deep folder on your PC as its own drive letter. There is a catch, but it's still handy if you refer to a folder from the command line a lot. If you're a mouse junky, it's ok, but you could just make a shortcut to the folder.

How Old Are Leviathan's Children?

A fragment of a bomb lance from the late 1800s was found embedded in the neck of a bowhead whale hunted near Alaska. This gives the creature an estimated age of 115 to 130, and some say they can live to 200. I wonder how many times this one contested with whalers over the years.
